PERFORMANCES 

Initially Zjef focused on Performance Art for museums and galleries as well as for the gay underground club scene in Amsterdam and Europe. He was one of the founders of the “Safe Sex Guerrilla”:
a group of guys brought together to raid gay clubs and spread Safe Sex Awareness in fun and 
provocative performances. It was featured on both CNN and MTV with appearances and 
interviews, and resulted in a touching documentary of 5 years on the road with that group.

In 1999 Zjef showed his “Chocolate Body” performance at the Supperclub in Amsterdam for the first time. From this premiere until 2008 he created many different special performances for this restaurant/club. During this period he was, as art director, also in charge of finding and shaping the creative entertainment for Supperclub restaurants across the world.

In 2005 he created SupperDeluxe for Supperclub. It became a monthly platform for innovative artists to show their latest performances and designs. It turned out to be a great way for artists to connect and inspire each other and to create new concepts.
